Eduard Grebe Consulting provides scientific consulting services in infectious disease epidemiology, HIV incidence estimation, blood safety surveillance, epidemiological modelling, and bespoke scientific software development.
Eduard Grebe is the director and principal consultant of Eduard Grebe Consulting in Cape Town, South Africa. He is a researcher in the epidemiology of infectious diseases, with focus areas in blood donor epidemiology, transfusion safety, infectious disease surveillance, and evaluation of laboratory assays. A major area of work has been cross-sectional HIV incidence estimation in blood donors and other populations using biomarkers of recent infection. He participates in the US FDA’s Transfusion Transmissible Infections Monitoring System (TTIMS) and the Brazil component of the NHLBI’s Recipient Epidemiology and Donor Evaluation Study-IV-Pediatric (REDS-IV-P), and other large multi-center blood donor-based research programmes.

- Honorary Senior Lecturer in the Division of Epidemiology and Biostatistics, School of Public Health at the University of Cape Town in Cape Town, South Africa; and
- Research Associate of the South African Centre for Epidemiological Modelling and Analysis in the Centre for Epidemic Response and Innovation at Stellenbosch University;
- Member of the International Society of Blood Transfusion (ISBT) and its Transfusion Transmitted Infectious Diseases Working Party; and
- Member of the Association for the Advancement of Blood & Biotherapies (AABB).
Eduard has published more than 70 peer-reviewed journal articles, presented research at numerous scientific conferences, and served on World Health Organization and other expert advisory bodies.
